What do I need in order to get started on these platforms? How often should I post?
You should post at least once on your social media page a day. How often you post will depend on what type of content is appropriate for the audience and what type of content they are expecting to see from you. It's important that people know when to expect new posts from you, so scheduling this accordingly using a social media scheduling tool can be helpful. You also want to make sure not to over-post too much as it may bore your followers if there isn't enough variety in the types of updates posted or if posting becomes too frequent with little time between each one.
The best way for me has been trying different things out until I find something that works really well for my business, but typically try to publish two times a day: some morning content with a link to the latest blog post, and then some evening content that can be shared from other places on the web.
How do I find a niche audience?
How can you better tailor your posts to an individual audience on social media?
If you're trying to grow followers and engagement, it's important that the content is relevant to them. Finding out who they are, what their interests are, will help you create engaging posts that resonate with them in order to get more views and interaction on your post or business' account. Also, You need to know where these people hang out online!
For example: if someone likes Video games then one of the platforms they would be most likely active at is Reddit; so by following related subreddits linked from this site (i.e /r/gaming) you can find out what kind of posts they're interested in and create content that will resonate with their interests.
How can Google Analytics help me track my progress with social media marketing strategies?
There are a few ways that you can use Google Analytics to track the progress of your social media page. One way is through goal tracking, where you link specific goals on the website with certain actions on Facebook or Twitter. Another way is by using conversion funnels and setting up specific conversions for people who have come from different sources such as email, RSS feed, Tumblr etc. Conversion funnel will show which channels lead to better results within your marketing strategy and help identify areas in need of improvement.
Goal Tracking: You'll set up goals for your Twitter account so they're tracked alongside all other goals on site; this includes buying product "x" or completing survey "y". As an example, if someone comes to my blog and then shares it on Facebook and Google+, these actions would be considered conversions. Google Analytics will generate the social media reports that show you which channels are performing best, and where to focus your efforts next.
Conversion Funnels: Conversion funnels help marketers identify which marketing channel is most effective for generating a desired action such as purchases or signups. Google Analytics automatically tracks conversion data in real time so you can make changes quickly based on what's working right now. It also lets you differentiate between various types of traffic sources including email, RSS feed, Tumblr etc., to see how they affect sales funnel metrics like website visits leading to product views resulting in purchase transactions completed with Google Checkout
Conclusion: As more businesses switch from traditional marketing strategies to integrated ones, Google Analytics becomes a vital tool for tracking success. Google Analytics is the only free analytics service that captures data from Google's wide variety of advertising platforms such as AdWords and DoubleClick.
Google Analytics is Google's free service that will help you track your social media progress.
