Mavenlink has four pricing tiers. They are:

Teams – The Teams tier contains collaboration and task management capabilities and is designed for small teams (up to five people). It's $19 per month if paid annually. The Teams plan has the following features:

  • 10 GB storage
  • Personalized dashboard for each user
  • Dedicated online workspace for each project
  • Social network-style activity news feed
  • File sharing via Google Drive integration
  • Public and private messages
  • Ability to grant access permissions to specific users
  • Task management, including task assignment and scheduling
  • Gantt charts, task dependencies and critical path analysis
  • Project plan templates
  • Mobile app
  • Customer support, such as 24/7 live support, a training video library and a knowledge base
  • Custom branding and custom subdomain

Professional – The Professional plan costs $39 per month for each user (paid annually). It incorporates all of the features of the Teams plan, as well as the following:

  • 50 GB storage
  • Change request management
  • Project accounting features such as; time and expense tracking, budgeted projects, time cards, expense reports, invoicing and online payments

Premier – Additional financial and resource planning components are included in this Premier plan. You'll have to contact the vendor directly for a quote because Mavenlink doesn't give pricing for this plan. The following features are included in the Premier plan:

  • 100 GB storage
  • Portfolio management
  • Project baseline and variance analysis
  • Project and job costs calculations
  • Resource planning features such as; hard and soft resource allocations, resource scheduling  and real-time availability forecasting
  • Real-time business analytics at your fingertips
  • Ability to create custom integrations flawlessly
  • Ability to create custom fields effortlessly

Enterprise – Advanced features, such as full business intelligence functionality, are included on the Enterprise plan. You'll have to contact Mavenlink directly for a price because they don't give pricing for this plan. This plan also includes the following features:

  • 1 TB storage
  • Business intelligence features such as data visualizations, custom reporting, trend analysis and forecasting
  • Service level agreement (SLA)
  • Single sign-on functionality

Mavenlink provides optional services to Premier and Enterprise plan members, such as the ability to upload proofs on any project, advanced integrations, and implementation.

Issues with Mavenlink

The biggest gripe I have with Mavenlink is that they don't have a transparent pricing system for their Premier and Enterprise plans. They may have their reasons but there is always that doubt which lingers at the back of my head which is, "Am I getting a fair deal?".

They are also too focused on their target users (professional service firms) and a lot of their features may seem like bloat to someone in a different niche.

Mavenlink can be more expensive because it has functionality that many other solutions don't (such as project accounting and business intelligence). It also doesn't have a free plan which may hinder your decision.

What's the Alternative

Mavenlink is suitable for organisations of all sizes, from tiny firms with simple tasks to huge corporations with complex projects. If you're looking at a variety of options and want to compare prices, we've identified three other providers who offer lower-cost programmes.

1. Asana

For teams of up to 15 people, Asana offers a free plan. It comes with basic dashboards and search capabilities, as well as an infinite number of tasks, projects, and discussions. Premium, Business, and Enterprise are the three priced programmes. The Premium subscription costs $10.99 per user, per month (paid annually) and includes a limitless number of dashboards, sophisticated search and reporting, task dependencies, and priority assistance, among other things.

The Business plan costs $24.99 per user, per month (paid annually) and includes all of the Premium plan's features plus portfolios, custom rules builder, approvals, and Salesforce, Tableau, and Power BI connectivity.

The Enterprise plan is designed for larger teams and provides extra features including customised onboarding strategies, advanced security, and bespoke branding. Asana's pricing isn't public, so you'll have to contact them for a price.

2. Wrike

Wrike offers five different pricing options. The first is a free subscription for up to five users that includes Wrike's essential features like a board and spreadsheet view, real-time Activity Stream, file sharing, task discussion, mobile apps, and cloud storage integration.

The second option is the premium Professional edition, which is available for five to 200 people. It costs $9.80 a month per user and offers extras like 5 GB of storage, subtask management, shareable dashboards, and Gantt charts, to name a few.

The Business plan, which is likewise for five to 200 users, comes next. It contains advanced capabilities such as custom fields and workflows, time tracking, report templates, Salesforce connection, user groups and permissions, and 50 GB of storage space for $24.80 per user every month.

Wrike for Marketers, a plan for marketing and creative companies, is also available. Wrike Proof (track proofing and approval procedures), Wrike Extension for Adobe Creative Cloud, Wrike Publish (digital asset management), and customizable templates and workspaces are all included.

The Enterprise plan is the final option. It's designed for companies with a large number of users or unique requirements. It also provides advanced features like 100 GB of storage, two-factor authentication, real-time reporting, single sign-on, and folder permissions.

You'll have to contact Wrike directly for a price quote for either the Wrike for Marketers or Enterprise edition because pricing isn't available publicly.


This article is my attempt to give a comprehensive overhaul of Mavenlink pricing and whether all the features it offers justify its comparatively higher cost.

I have also given you alternatives in case you are unsure, so that you have the option to compare the prices of various other products to see which suit you the most.
