Did you know that only 8% of followers on Instagram are actually active?

That means 92% of your followers aren't even seeing your posts. And the sad news is, there isn't much you can do about it.

Well, not until now!

In this blog post, we will discuss 11 ways to get 1000 followers on Instagram - tips, tricks and strategies that have been proven to work by other successful entrepreneurs just like yourself.

We'll be talking about everything from the best hashtag strategy to use on Instagram, how often you should post and what type of posts work best.

We will also discuss why it's so important to have an engaging bio (hint – because this is where your followers are going when they want more information!)

Not sure if these tips will help you?

Let's find out!

What you'll need to get started: a smartphone, an Instagram account with some followers and willingness to experiment.

A lot of people might think that getting 1000 followers is impossible, but this couldn't be further from the truth.

You may be asking, how can you increase your following and attract more people to visit your profile?

The answer is: with a little creativity.

There are many ways for increasing the number of people who follow you and stay interested in what you're posting.

These 11 tips will help any aspiring Instagram influencer increase their following.

1. Optimize Your User name

Your business name or brand (if you want to use your personal Instagram profile as a way of marketing)

One key tip: if you're following people, make sure they are doing the same. Follow back and it will show that you care about building relationships with them.

Another thing to keep in mind is the group of people you're trying to reach. If you want a more family-friendly following, then make sure your posts are appropriate for all audiences.

Make your bio simple and concise, so that it's easier for influencers to find you.

2. Create Engaging Bio

Your bio is the first thing that people will see when they're scrolling through their feed. Do your best to make it engaging and interesting so followers want to know more about you!

You could use a few hashtags in your Instagram bio; for example, "creative entrepreneur," "a beard with heart," or anything else that draws attention.

If your Instagram page is for an organization or brand, it's important to include the hashtag "#ad" in your bio. This way followers know that they're seeing content from this source!

Make sure your bio is as engaging as possible! Include things like where you're from or what makes your account different - anything that will help people feel connected with you on an emotional level.

3. Connect with Your Friends

This is an important tip. Connect to your friends so that not only do they follow you, but their friends will also be more likely to click on the link and check out your profile!

Follow people whom you know. Instagram will automatically suggest people to follow based on your Facebook account (reminder: Instagram is owned by Facebook so the platforms are connected) so it's a good idea to take action on these suggestions.

You can also search through your contact list to make sure you don't miss anyone. Everyone you follow will get notified and may follow you back. They are your first followers.

4. Find famous Accounts to Learn from them

If you want to find accounts that post on a regular basis and get good engagement with their content, look at comments and the number of likes on posts.

The key is to find existing, established accounts where your ideal audience is already hanging out so you can leverage their audience. Generating hashtags related to your business or your ideal clients' problems or interests is a great way to find these accounts.

Create List of such Accounts for your Brand and then Start Engaging. To get followers, you need to follow people who have an interest in the same things as you or at least might be interested in what you're posting.

You can't just go on Instagram and randomly start following people. It's important to find accounts that are relevant and engaging, so following them will lead people back to you!

5. Use Popular Hashtags

The best way to get people interested in your account is by adding a unique or funny twist on popular hashtags.

Here's an example from men's grooming brand Beard brand

While you can use up to 30 hashtags per post, Beard brand uses only eight here. Of these, one hashtag is branded (#Beardbrand), four are product-related (#beard #mensgrooming #beardstyles #beardcomb) and three are specific to the post (#model #beardmodel #KeeponGrowing).

To find the most popular hashtags related to your niche, type these words into the Instagram search bar: "popular and hashtag"

Always use hashtags when posting content; but don't use too many! Four or five hashtags is ideal.

You could take a selfie with an animal and add #babyrabies for maximum engagement! You can also post something that's not typically seen as being "Instagram-worthy," for example, your breakfast.

6. Post Photographs

We know, this should really be a no-brainer. But if you're posting photos from your phone or an old camera, it might look like more work than thought and that will turn people off.

If you want good quality photos on Instagram, use high-quality equipment! If photography isn't your forte but taking cute selfies is, then use an app like Facetune to edit your photos.

The most popular time for posting is Friday evenings from around 12 p.m. ET, but go with what's best for you! If you're a business owner who can't take weekends off, or if you want more engagement in the middle

Post a series of photos or videos documenting the process of making something - like cooking an elaborate meal.

This way you have several posts that are related and people don't want to miss out on seeing how it all turns out!

7. Post on a Regular basis

If you are going to be posting on Instagram, then post often and on a regular schedule. This will help keep followers coming back for more.

Be sure that your posts fit the platform's character limit of 30 hashtags (or less). Not only does this make it easier for users to find content related to what they're looking for, but it also helps with discovery.

Post at least once a day to make sure followers don't forget about you!

Don't be afraid to post videos! Videos on Instagram get six times the engagement as photos.

8. Schedule Posts

There are lots of apps that will make it easier to schedule your posts for the future.

If you're a small business owner who can't take weekends off, or if you want more engagement in the middle of the week, then scheduling posts in advance will help you do just that!

If you're using a third-party application to schedule posts, it's worth doing the work upfront. You can set up your next six weeks of Instagram posts before going to bed and have them ready for when you wake up in the morning!

9. Be Interactive with the Audience

When you're ready to interact with your followers, take the time to read their questions and comments. Not only does this show that you care about your audience (which is a key part of marketing), but it also gives them an opportunity

You could even offer up rewards for those who answer questions or post on specific topics by mentioning them in your posts.

If someone leaves a comment on one of your posts, always make time to reply. This is the person that you want following you!

Don't be afraid to ask for feedback or opinions from followers; this way they can get more involved and feel like their opinion matters. Use hashtags when responding to comments so other users see what

Posting more photos of your face will help increase engagement and interaction with followers. People want to see who they're following - so don't be afraid to show yourself off every once in awhile!

10. Designate a Content Creator

Just like there should be one (maybe two) people managing your other social media accounts, there should only be one or two people managing your Instagram account.

If possible, choose someone with experience on the platform who will "get" it and is sure they stay updated about any new features that are offered by Instagram.

It might seem obvious, but if you work for a large organization, then there will be many people who want to post on your Instagram account.

To keep everyone happy and organized, make sure that someone is designated as the "Instagram Content Creator." This way they can take requests from others or create content ideas based off what's happening in their day-to-day life.

Try using a combination of text and visual posts to get a more complete picture of who you are.

11. Look For Your Audience

From the beginning, describe the potential ideal audience for yourself (create an avatar).

Then look for other accounts that serve your audience. If you are a kids clothing designer, then accounts for moms, kids recreational centers, event companies or other kid fashion accounts may fit your audience criteria.

If you are a fitness trainer then fitness centers sports stores and healthy lifestyle accounts in your area may have the audience you need.

All the big accounts I've studied on Instagram took a while to grow, unless they bought followers, went viral with one post, or have even follow-to-follower ratios.

Because my strategy is tedious, I haven't tried it out on any other platform besides Instagram.  If your content is engaging enough, then people will start following you and your account will grow. Follow the 11 ways mentioned and grow your followers.
